Our institution successfully hosted a special Charity Sharing Session, attracting over 70 distinguished guests.
Our Honorary President and Senior TCM Physician, Physician Chng Lak Seng, took the stage to deliver an engaging lecture on the history and characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Singapore. Speaking in the antique-style waiting hall on the first floor, his humorous and insightful storytelling quickly transported the audience through the historical journey of TCM, setting the stage for an enlightening session.
The highlight of the event was an inspiring sharing session by Mr. Ang Chin Koon, BBM, the Founder and CEO of CK Group and our institution’s Permanent Honorary President. Drawing from his recently published book, he shared invaluable insights on philanthropy. In a remarkable gesture of generosity, he presented a donation cheque of S$110,000 to support the development of our medical services. His heartfelt contribution deeply moved the attendees and was met with resounding applause.
Additionally, experienced herbalists, Physician Wang and Physician Shen, showcased 25 types of locally grown medicinal herbs. Dr. Chen Yuebang also presented his treasured collection of premium Chinese medicinal ingredients, including wild ginseng, deer antler, and lingzhi, providing guests with detailed explanations of their medicinal properties.
The event was hosted by Physician Pang Ka Yii, the Clinic Head of our Toa Payoh branch. Her engaging hosting style, coupled with the experts’ insightful sharing, sparked lively discussions and an enthusiastic exchange of questions, enriching the experience for all attendees.
The sharing session was a vibrant and enriching experience, concluding on a warm and uplifting note. Guests not only gained a deeper understanding of TCM culture but also felt the profound impact of philanthropy. The overwhelming response to this inaugural charity event was truly encouraging, demonstrating the powerful synergy between TCM and charitable giving. Inspired by this success, we look forward to organizing more TCM charity sharing sessions in the future.
